Yalonda Burton, DVM- Practice Owner

Dr. Yalonda Burton was raised in Adair County.  After receiving a BS in Animal Science and her DVM from Oklahoma State, she returned to Adair County to open a mixed animal practice.  She has been practicing medicine at Patterson Animal Hospital since its inception in May of 2000.  She is the 2015 OVMA president and has played an important part of many state and nationwide veterinary leadership programs. She has a passion for helping new veterinarians and showing them the importance of the role they play in their communities. Dr. Burton is very active in her community, she is involved in her church activities, the local 4-H/FFA programs, Cattlemans Association, and president of Paws and Hooves Rescue Foundation. She has taken a special interest in small ruminant medicine and has put a lot of time and research into caprine reproduction/medicine. She is married to Dean and they have 4 girls, Makatlyn and Makenzie, the twins, and Grace and Brianna.  In her spare time she has a successful small goat dairy farm in which her family is very active in. They travel all over competing in ADGA goat shows. It is something all her girls enjoy.  She and her family enjoy riding horses, going to livestock shows, and participating in church youth activities.
